- You will be asked to arrive 10-15 minutes early to fill out a Health History Form. Arrive 10 minutes prior to your session for every massage.
- When that is completed, the Therapist will take you to a treatment room to review the history form and ask any further questions that will assist in providing you with the best treatment plan for your condition. The Therapist may also conduct some muscle or orthopedic tests as a part of your assessment.
- Once an appropriate treatment plan has been established between you and your therapist, she will leave the room while you prepare for your Massage Treatment.
- Your therapist will advise you on what clothing may need to be removed and that you will be fully covered with a sheet and/or blanket during the session with only the area being worked on uncovered. Our most important concern is that you are comfortable and your privacy respected.
- The therapist will knock before returning to the treatment room and will check to make sure you are properly supported and comfortable on the table.
- During the treatment, you may want to talk or remain quiet – the choice is yours. It is important, however, to let your therapist know if at any time they are using too much pressure or not enough. Communication is the key to receiving the most benefit from your Massage Treatment.
- At the end of the session, the therapist will leave the room so you may get dressed. It is important to take a few moments and get up slowly to allow your body to return to a more active state.
- When you are dressed, you may open the door to let your therapist know you are ready. The therapist will take note of how you are feeling and may go over some home care instructions that will further benefit your treatment.
- Your Therapist will provide you with a receipt for your payment at the end of your appointment and will give you suggestions on when to return for another appointment if necessary. It is recommended that you book your appointments in advance to reserve the time that suits you best and that you try to book at least one session within a week after your first visit to really address your concerns.
- Following your visit, it is important to drink water and keep hydrated. It is not uncommon to feel a bit tender or stiff the next day but this should lessen within the first 36 hours after treatment.
If you have any concerns, however, please call us. We are always available to answer any questions you may have regarding your treatment or homecare.
